Doha University for Science and Technology win 2024–2025 University Basketball Tournament
Doha University for Science and Technology emerged victorious in the 2024–2025 University Basketball Tournament, held from April 12 to 22 at its campus and Qatar Foundation courts. The event was organized by the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) in cooperation with the Qatar Basketball Federation.
The tournament showcased remarkable talent and a high level of competition across both men’s and women’s divisions. In the men’s competition, Doha University for Science and Technology claimed the Tournament, followed by Qatar University in second place and Texas A&M University at Qatar in third.
At the closing ceremony, Dr. Senaid Salem Al-Marri, QCSF board member, and Dr. Angela Flowerday, Vice President of Doha University for Science and Technology, awarded the gold medals and trophy to the host team. Dr. Mohammad Shahin Al Kuwari, Vice President for Student Affairs at Qatar University, presented the silver medals, while Dr. Al-Marri honored Texas A&M at Qatar with bronze medals.
Individual honors in the men’s division went to Ali Eddine Diasty (Qatar University) as Top Scorer and Ayomade Elabi (Doha University of Science and Technology) as Best Player.
In the women’s division, Doha University for Science and Technology again took top honors, with Qatar University in second and Georgetown University in Qatar in third. Dr. Maryam Al-Mannai, Chair of the QCSF Women’s Sports Committee, led the award presentation.
Tania Bassam was named Best Player, while Ala Suleiman received the Top Scorer award.
