The competitions of the first edition of Universities Padel Tournament 2023 were successfully concluded at the University of Doha for Science and Technology courts on Saturday.

In Saturday’s men finals, students showed amazing performance with high skills, where AFG College with University of Aberdeen team won the first place, , Qatar Uuniversity team seized the runner-up place, while the third place went to University of Doha for Science and Technology.

At the medal ceremony, the QCSF President Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Naimi, , crowned the winners AFG College with University of Aberdeen with the trophy and gold medal, as runner-up Qatar University took the silver medal, while the bronze medal went to University of Doha for Science and Technology.

On the same track of success, the women’s finals has seen good performance from students , President of University of Doha for Science and Technology, Dr. Salem bin Nasser Al Naimi crowned the Community College team with the gold medal, University of Doha for Science and Technology team clinched the sliver medal and lusail University claimed the bronze medal.

The three-day tournament was organised under the umbrella of Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation in cooperation with the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation from 18th to 20th May, it has seen a large participation from students who represented seven Universities, Qatar University, Lusail University, Global Studies Institute, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, University of Doha for Science and Technology, Community College and AFG College with University of Aberdeen.

Most notably, padel has become the most popular sport in Qatari youth community, this sport depends on fitness, agility and mental focus, it plays a centre stage role in improving physical fitness and preserving public health.

In a post-medal ceremony statement , the QCSF President Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Naimi said QCSF feels proud and gratitude to conclude its sport season 2022-2023 with this fantastic tournament that will help students develop their talent and skills in padel.

“ Our constant effort this year have paid off and helped us successfully to carry out our sport activity of the season 2022-2023 that according to our strategy, objectives, vision and message”. Added Dr. A-Naimi.
