Inspiring moments at 2023 Universities Cricket League Final Day
The competitions of the first edition of 2023 Qatar Universities Cricket League (men) organised by the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation in cooperation with the Qatar Cricket Association and Qatar Foundation were successfully concluded at the Education City Cricket ground on Saturday.
Saturday’s finals have seen strong competitions and amazing games between participating teams , who fought hard to step up on podium of the most popular sport that gives everyone valuable health returns, including body balancing, flexibility and endurance.
In the final game, Carnegie Mellon University team in Qatar defeated opponents Texas A&M University team by five runs to win the first place and gold medal, while Weill Cornell Medicine team – Qatar and Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) were settled on the third and fourth places respectively.
Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation Secretary General, Mr. Rashid Adiba and Qatar Cricket Association Secretary-General , Mr. Khalid Al- Rumaihi jointly crowned the winners and handed over single and collective awards to honorees during a medal ceremony attended by the representatives of the teams and students.
In a post-event statement, the QCSF Secretary General appreciated the teams high technical performance, lauded their compliance with the game applicable rules and abidance by QCSF regulations in the league held from 25th of February to 18th March at Education City ground at Qatar Foundation.
