Qatar University , Texas A&M University teams ( men) and Georgetown University and University of Doha for Science and Technology teams (women ) have kept their winning streak in the preliminary competitions of Universities Basketball Tournament for the sport season 2023-2024 held last week.

In the Men’s basketball event held on Sunday, Qatar University edged out Hamad bin Khalifa University 61-30 , while Texas A&M University got better of Georgetown University in Qatar 54-28.

In the women’s basketball event held on Tuesday , Georgetown University in Qatar recorded a narrow 23-20 victory over Northwestern University as University of Doha for Science and Technology team thrashed Virginia Commonwealth University 31 – 0.

Likewise men’s football event held on Monday has seen competitive games between participating teams, where Northwestern University beat Hamad bin Khalifa University 4-3. In Wednesday’s games, Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College ensured a convincing 4-1 win over Lusail University and CUC Ulster University Qatar defeated Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar 3-1.

In the cricket event, Qatar University team overcome University of Doha for Science and Technology 114-113, while Hamad bin Khalifa University registered a narrow 74-69 victory over Georgetown University.
