QCSF Annual Forum reviews Last Season and unveils 2024-2025 Sports Calendar
The Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) held its annual forum on Thursday at the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) building, embracing the slogan “Sport Inspires Education.”
The event covered a variety of organizational, administrative, and technical topics, reflecting on last season’s achievements while laying out the agenda for the upcoming 2024–2025 sports season.
Chaired by the QCSF Secretary General Mr. Rashid Saeed Adiba and Executive Director Mr. Rashid Ali Al-Tamimi, the forum brought together representatives from universities, higher education institutions, and QCSF board members.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Adiba conveyed the appreciation of H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Naimi, QCSF President, to the team for their outstanding efforts in the 2023–2024 season, both organizationally and administratively.
Mr. Adiba noted that the QCSF is on a positive trajectory, with participation increasing among both public and private educational institutions, now totaling 19. He also highlighted the enthusiastic involvement of universities in the International Day of University Sport, celebrated on September 20 in Doha, an event recognized by UNESCO and FISU.
The Secretary General emphasized the successes and challenges of the 2023-2024 season, stressing the importance of scheduling sporting events to accommodate university exams and holidays while encouraging a focus on popular sports among students.
He announced the addition of new sports for the 2024–2025 season, including chess, e-sports, cross-country, and swimming.
Mr. Rashid Ali Al-Tamimi elaborated on the process for adding events to the calendar, explaining that proposals are submitted to the QCSF board for selection based on student interests.
He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to boosting student participation in the QCSF-organized championships.
The forum featured constructive discussions aimed at ensuring the success of tournaments and activities planned for the upcoming season.
