QCSF President attends FISU World University Games Summer Opening Ceremony
The Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) President H.E Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Naimi attended on Friday the Opening Ceremony of the 31st edition of the 2023 FISU World University Games Summer, which will run from 28 July to August 8, in the Chinese city of Chengdu.
Friday’s amazing opening ceremony was also attended by the QCSF Secretary General and head of QCSF team delegation Mr. Rashid Adiba and Mr Rashid Ali Al- Tamimi, the sport expert.
Team Qatar members were integral part of athletes parade displayed at the Opening Ceremony, a scene in which they shared spirit of brotherhood, solidarity, peace and mutual respect with their counterparts from across the world through sports.
The line-up of QCSF team consists of promising names , who are aspiring to make history in FISU World University Games Summer 2023. Team Qatar will be competing in three sport disciplines, athletics, table tennis and taekwondo.
Players, Elhafiz Medani Mahadi and Hamdi Ali will be competing in Athletics event , Ahmed Mohammed Saadawi will be participating in table tennis event and Mohammed Samer Shalan, Maram Assam Fatnassi and Wadah Al-Ahmed will be taking part in Taekwondo event.
In a pre-games statement on Friday, the QCSF President H.E Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Naimi said today we are an integral part of FISU World University sport system, we shall put our best into what we are doing to make this participation positive and meaningful, we are looking to get a better tomorrow that full of achievements and glory”.
Most notably, the QCSF team delegation members attended a reception ceremony held in their honor earlier on Friday and attended Qatar flag rising ceremony took place at the sport village.
For two weeks in row, the global university teams will be competing in 18 sport disciplines, including athletics, archery, badminton, basketball, diving, swimming, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, fencing, volleyball, tennis, shooting sport, taekwondo, table tennis, judo, rowing, water polo and wushu.
2023 FISU World University Games Summer brings together more than 10 athletes and administrative staffers, who represent their national teams from more than 120 countries.
