Team Qatar delegation have left Doha on Friday morning to Oman to participate in the FISU 2024 World University Cross Country Championships, which will be held on February 17-18 in Oman’s capital city of Muscat.

The two-day championship is organized by the Oman Committee for University Sports in cooperation with FISU and will bring together21 teams, Australia, Czech
Republic, France, Germany, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Libya, Norway, Oman, Hungary, Poland, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Spain, South Africa, Kenya, Sweden, Uganda, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Team Qatar delegation to Muscat is headed by Mr. Mohammed Saleh Al Marri – the QCSF board member, Mohammed Faraj Al Abdulla (coach) and players, Fahad Masood Al Mohanndi , Fahad Eid Al Hajiri, Fahad Qablan Al-Hababi and Rakan Hamad Al Nuaimi.

The event opening day will see multiple races, including male and female short relay race (1.5—2km) and male and female’s long relay race ( 4.5-6km), while the closing day will witness, female’s 3 km race , male’s 3km race, female 10km race and male’s 10km race.

In a statement before team departure on Friday, the QCSF board member, Mr. Rashid Altamimi said by this participation will are looking to improve the technical efficiency and skills of our athletes, to take them to better levels and to help them competing against best world university stars.
