Thrilling Start to QCSF University Volleyball Tournament 2025–2026
The 2025–2026 University Volleyball Tournament officially served off on Sunday evening at the Qatar University Sports and Events Complex (A07), marking the start of a thrilling new season of university sports in the country.
Organized by the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF), in collaboration with the Qatar Volleyball Association and Qatar University, the tournament runs from October 5 to 15, bringing together a vibrant lineup of student from higher education institutions across Qatar.
The men’s competition features teams representing Doha University for Science and Technology, Qatar University, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, and Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar. On the women’s side, five teams are competing: Doha University for Science and Technology (1), Doha University for Science and Technology (2), Qatar University (1), Qatar University (2), and Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
The Tournament kicked off its men’s volleyball competitions with Qatar University securing a straight-set victory over Hamad Bin Khalifa University 2–0 (25–15), while Doha University for Science and Technology (DUST) triumphed over Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar with the same score of 2–0 (25–13).
As for the women’s opening matches held on Sunday, DUST (Team 1) claimed a 2–0 (25–8) win against Qatar University (Team 2), while DUST (Team 2) also defeated Hamad Bin Khalifa University 2–0 (25–11).
The University Volleyball Championship stands out as one of the leading events on the collegiate sports calendar, promoting fair competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students. Beyond the court, the tournament highlights volleyball’s unique role in developing both the physical fitness and mental sharpness of Qatar’s university students, helping them build balanced, disciplined, and collaborative personalities values that align perfectly with the QCSF’s mission to embed sports as a way of life among youth.
